Illegal Trade And Exploitation Of Human Trafficking

The illegal trade and exploitation of human beings for forced labor, prostitution and reproductive favors is defined as human trafficking. Human trafficking is a global issue and is second only to the international drug trade in regards to organized crime. Many reports say that, it is a multi-billion dollar business affecting several million people in every country across the world. The two main types of human trafficking are: human sex trafficking, and forced labor, both making up what society describes as â€Å"modern-day slavery.† Labor trafficking is a form of modern day slavery that exists throughout the United States and globally. Victims are also trafficked into garment industry jobs such as sewing, assembling, pressing, and more. Some of these companies are brands that we use every day such as Nike, Apple, Walmart, and more. Some others may be forced into food processing operations, and more. Industries all around the world are all affected by the growing problem of human trafficking, specifically forced labor, but also the idea of human sex trafficking. Like Labor Trafficking, Sex trafficking is another form of modern slavery, that exists in the United States, and beyond. Sex traffickers use violence, threats, lies, debt bondage, and other forms o f coercion to compel adults and children to engage in commercial sex acts against their will. Under U.S. federal law, any minor under the age of 18 years induced into commercial sex is a victim of Sex Trafficking. (Polaris/Sex Traficking.Web.) S.ex trafficking, regardless of whether or not the trafficker used force, fraud, or coercion. Victims of sex trafficking can be U.S. citizens, foreign nationals, women, men, children, and LGBT individuals.
